Establishing an ORI number can be a daunting process, but we are here to help!
California law authorizes certain governmental and private organizations to conduct criminal offender record information background checks to help determine the suitability of a person applying for a license, employment, or a volunteer position working with children, the elderly, or the disabled. Law enforcement agencies, public and private schools, non-profit organizations, and in-home supportive care agencies are some of the organizations authorized to conduct these fingerprint-based background checks. During the 2012-13 fiscal year, the Department of Justice (DOJ) processed two million background check requests.
If your organization is interested in obtaining their own ORI number and setting up your Custodian of Record (you can’t have one without the other) – contact us! This is a service we are happy to help you with.
